The Western Australian Karate Federation is the only Government recognised karate body in Western Australia , recognised by the Department of Sport & Recreation in Western Australia.

The AKF (WA) consists of member clubs from different styles of Karate in Western Australia and is affiliated to The World Karate Federation.

The major objectives of The Australian Karate Federation of Western Australia are:

• To support, develop and advance the practice of Karate throughout Western Australia
• To select , organise and support competitors at  State , National and International championships
• To promote the correct and lawful practice of Karate in Western Australia.
• To promote the benefit of joining a Karate club affiliated with The Australian Karate Federation Of Western Australia
